After our Sentiero H Chaos adventure in the morning, in the afternoon we pedaled along the sea to Varigotti and climbed the ramps, some of which were rushing and shadowless, to the downhill run for the ladies. The second half of the day was then dedicated to the EWS stage from 2014 "Supergroppo". Start again from Base NATO and then in a wide arc towards the valley, whereby two smaller counter climbs, partly with sliding passages, had to be overcome. As announced: We didn't want to miss the original Sentiero H and have now indulged ourselves in it: great trail, partly flowing with smaller jumps, partly stepped with more technical passages, never boring and certainly a classic! In the morning Sentiero H and in the afternoon we did the rollercoaster uphill again, but turned down after a few hundred meters on the rollercoaster into less traveled terrain: Isallo melogno and toboga di canova are sometimes poorly maintained and under a carpet of large pine cones and pine needles… meer lezen

Yes: that is not - or mostly not - the Sentiero H (I guess). But it was confusing - I'll spare you the details ... Anyway, this potpourri came out and it was - largely - good! “Base NATO” is probably a term for everyone who has ever dealt with mountain biking in Finale Ligure. It's great to have finally been there and to have felt the morbid charm of this "lost place"!
