Are you craving fresh air and the chance to reconnect with nature? Then this Collection is for you. Departing from Bordeaux station, you head into the hinterland to enjoy the rural landscapes of the Entre-deux-Mers and Landes regions. Mainly on cycle paths and asphalted surfaces, you'll cover 195 kilometres (121 mi) in the fresh air. It's the perfect way to recharge your batteries and enjoy safe family cycling.

I've divided the Collection into three stages ranging from 55 to 72 kilometres (34 - 45 mi). The first stage takes you out of Bordeaux and into the Entre-deux-Mers, a region to the west of the city that’s a veritable jewel of nature. You'll travel through the Bordeaux vineyards on an old railway line that has been converted into a cycle path. Passing from station to station gives the day its rhythm and marks your progress to the end of the Tour at Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.

On the second stage, you’ll continue into the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region and cross Garonne. The landscape becomes more diverse, with wine growing leaving a little more room for food crops. In the final part of the Tour, you ride along tracks through Landes forest.

This astonishing landscape is repeated on the next stage, which crosses the Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park. This is home to the Hostens Lake, a beautiful natural gem set in a former quarry. To round off the Collection, you return to the Pearl of Aquitaine and its railway station.

You start from the Charles Domercq forecourt at Saint-Jean station, which is served by regional and national trains daily, all year round. If you're taking the A tram to the station, avoid rush hour, when bicycles are not allowed on the trains.

The Collection is accessible all year round. However, beware of the risk of black ice on the tracks in winter. The route is suitable for mountain bikes and gravel bikes. Most of the tracks are tarmac and some are compacted stone. The route does not require any special equipment apart from a repair kit to deal with a puncture and your water bottles.
