The Coal Coast Trail

A two day cycle touring & bikepacking route from the edge of Sydney, down the Coal Coast. The route is a mix of cycle path, road, coastal trail and rainforest and leads you from urban Sutherland, through the Royal National Park, along the coastline and finishing at Gerringong or Kiama.You can catch the train easily from Kiama to Sutherland at the start / finish of this route. Trains run from Gerringong to Kiama to connect the final section.Note: The section from Kiama to Gerringong follows the Kiama Coast Trail which is a beautiful stretch of headland, albeit grassy and technical in sections. The Coast Walk Route ends at Werri beach were you may have a water crossing - this can be too deep to cross on occasion so check local conditions before completing this section.
